Given what some other sellers are charging for shipping I figure Tradex's "free shipping on 1000 rounds or more" works out to the "bulk" price for 9mm being around $12.75 a box or less for me

My feelings exactly. The 9 is a good deal but the .38 and .40 pricing is really good! Even the Wolf .38 (when you can find it) runs me close to $20 when you add tax and shipping.
