No, you fit the adapter to the gun, then you can use any AR style mags.Maybe this was already answered .....Do you need an adapter for each magazine? SOrry if a dumb question, I didn't read the whole thread.

please make sure the bolt stays open on the last round. and yes, I would order one but not in DYI config - rather a fully modified and tested sks for ~500 would be reasonable.
