Look at the two photos, the underneath of the rear of the rail is sloped. Betcha that deflects the brass to the right.

Personally, I'm not bothered about it. Doesn't eject with my current side mount and this one wont put a krink in my neck. Eye relief, however, looks pretty long. Will this only work with scout type scopes?

I was thinking the exact same thing about the angled bit. Maybe with an offset rear ring you could get a standard optic to work? I'm done with scout scopes, I just don't seem to like them all that much....

We have added a video to demonstrate. It also shows mount installed and position of scope.

so it JUST fits into the rear sight mounting? What holds the rear of the mount down? or does the back part just hang there?

I just bought this today and finished installing mine.
Very solid mounting within the existing rear iron sight mount.
I too was concerned about the positioning of the rail as it looked like it would set a regular scope too far forward, making the shooter crowd the rear of the bolt to allow proper eye relief.
I test fitted a couple of existing spare scopes I have on hand - a Vortex PST 2.5x10 and a Nightforce 2.5-10 NXS - both of which work just fine.
As with most mounts that are retro-fits, this thing sits quite high.
So now I just need a cheek pad - otherwise it turns into a chin weld.

The front of the rail block is a precise match to the front pin.
The rear Allen bolt threads into a bolt that, for lack of better terminology dove-tails into the interior slot of the sight block attached to the barrel once the rear sight spring is removed.
There is a further seat that mates up with the top of the rifles receiver.

Sorry, couldn't resist, although I would like to see the pics of this mount on your rifle. Did you take any pics while installing per chance?
