I went deep into the bowels of the Hirtenberger corporate history and found this:
I'll say the "IV" stands for "April" (of 1974) month of production.
Seems to be confirmed from other Hirtenberger headstamp descriptions (arty shells) I see online as well... The roman numerals are the months.
Anyone with their received HP brass see another roman numeral / decimal year on the headstamps?

Nice. That pallet looks heavy. Like 6-700 pounds of yum.
