    Private Land with permission

Instead of petitioning for De-Restricting the AR, how about going for something easier for the crown to swallow , ie - if you have access to private land out side of a major city then you should be able to "Target shoot ONLY " with a restricted firearm. Not on crown land and no hunting but safe , responsible plinking out at the farm.

How is this a newbie FAQ?
Anyway, it would be easier to de-restrict it.

What are you referring to when you say de-restrict the 'AR'?

When he says AR, does he mean assault rifle?

Indeed a newbie question. I would say in that case, 911 will be ringing off the hook.

Restricted means only at the range. Making up a law, specifically for the AR to say that you can shoot it in special additional places doesn't make sense.
With the current glacial movement of pro-gun legislation, nothing significant will happen until the Lib/NDP alliance prohibit them.

I had a Colt Sporter Match H-Bar that I bought in '91and had a couple of years of fun with it before going restricted.
Just figured I'd throw that in there to make the younger guys jealous...
