I hear ya, but I still purchase off the EE and our dealers here and have yet to be stung (touch wood). Firearms like this with some known issues I'll agree; it would be stupid to just throw that kind of money out there not knowing what quality you have just bought. Caveat Emptor {buyer beware}

Like many others I do not want 12 inch...I want 16 inch (I would rather have 13 or 14 but 16 is shown on Chiappas website) and I want it in stainless.
I would even be happy with the 44 rem mag meeting these requirements.
Why not bring in a few...

My Marlin 1895GS in 45-70 is one of my favorite guns.....the Chiappa would be an expensive peice of real estate sharing safe space.

I've fired the 12 inch takedown and its stout ,I couldn't find a use for this besides range shooting.my guide guns fill that space.how about a stainless chiappa takedown in .44 msg 16 inch configuration?id take one Asap!
^^^^^^^^^^ this,,,, the question seems to be going unanswered.
I would take one with a 16" barrel as well. 12 is too short 18.5 is too long.
I also don't care for the sights on the 12"... regular sights would be fine.
