My brother in law wants one as well. I think he may be waiting for a sale as well.

Got one. If you expect cheap plinking you can forget about it. Lots of light primer strikes. I had to shim the spring. Now no problem. Rear sight fell off while shooting.

Are they really that bad? I was looking for one to use with some surplus ammo. (The model with iron sight)

Mine didn't seem to mind the Surplus ammo I was shooting. I think it was either Bulgarian, or Romanian. Pretty accurate too

Mine likes the copper-washed surplus, but gets gummed up on the green lacquer-coated stuff. Others have had the same experience.

I got same model Zastava M85 with sights. Maybe you get lucky. I did not. I did fix it no problem for me as I am pretty good at these things. I use to convert SKS to take AK mags so for me to shim a spring is really nothing.

I just got my M85 and really like it.
No issues with the surplus I used.
I have the iron sight model.

The M85 I had was a terrible gun. The internal mag would jam putting the first round in about half the time. Lots of unessesary rough edges in the internal mag. Just spend the dough on a CZ 527, you'll make it up in ammo savings eventually and you'll end up with a way better gun

I'd rather have a Norinco than this thing.
