There's a lot of different after market rails on the market and every single of them is different. Some are flush to the top of the receiver, some are extended, some have mirage band hook at the end which make them longer, etc. It's impossible for Cadex to control what type of rails may be assembled on the top of a Remington or Rem clone action. This is why the fore-end tube has been trimmed in order to have a maximum of space for the longer top rail.

Basically to avoid any contact with the fore-end tube the top rail cannot stick-out further than 0. " from the end of the action (receiver). See example of a top rail finishing flush to the action receiver.

From the end of your action up to the fore-end tube the maximum length the top rail could stick out would be .270"

I hope it helps to better understand.
    Hi Patrice,
I am a bit confused. In the photo example you indicate that the rail should not extend beyond the action. Then you say the rail can stick out .270". Which do you recommend?

In my build, I cut the rail back until I could put a .060 feeler gauge between the rail and the fore end tube. The rail has a lug that prevents forward movement under recoil. Is this enough clearance?

    Best regards, B

.060" clearance should not be a problem.

See attached drawing showing the end of the action receiver versus the fore-end tube. As you will see the rail could be longer than the action a maximum of .270"

    Hi guys!

It's been a while since I had a minute to surf on the forum. I'm glad to see that you are enjoying your CDX rifles. We are very proud of the amazing accuracy that we get out of our precision rifles with factory ammo or even better with handloads.

Pro-Staffer Dominic St-Jean and René Menard are looking forward to shoot a CDX-30 GUARDIAN LITE in 308 WIN and a custom chambered 6.5X47 LAPUA at the Meaford PRS event September 2nd-3rd. Here are some preliminary test load results of their rifles... Quite promising for some of the shelf rifles

Me and Rob Furlong from RFMA (Rob Furlong Marksmanship Academy) will be at the MLRSC event to shake hands with the shooters and answer all questions about Cadex precision rifles.

Cadex will give away a precision rifle while Leupold Optics will outfit it with a quality glass.

On the Friday prior to the even we'll be there to let the shooters enjoy our CDX-30 GUARDIAN (308 Win), CDX-33 PATRIOT (338 Lapua) and CDX-50 TREMOR (50BMG) rifles.

Looking forward to meet with you over there

    Thanks for your great support
