Is the price on 2 pieces of 6x6 steel so expensive due to the testing and requirements behind them being sold as certain grade body armor?

shawn, simply put, these are not just 2 pc of 6x6 steel
also they are not just off the shelf ar500.

we start out have certified steel from the mill, then they are cut, all edges are then hard ground to remove any chance of over heating from cutting that may effect the hardness.
plates are then formed, stress releved then re heat treated.
then they are sanded , cleaned and sprayed with Mil spec anti spall coating, which has to be done in layers to get the correct build up, both front back and sides.
Plates from each batch are tested and some are sent to a lab in Quebec for testing.
A lot of work and time goes into these plates, as many of our customers need to know they can trust our products, calling customer service if this item fails is not an option

    Makes sense, thanks!

Might have to pick some up to go with my larger ceramic plates once I have a decent carrier.
