Basically the MV should just recieve a "child entry" FRT under the Modern Hunter.
Bingo! IF the system was not so screwed up 1 would think that it would be a simple "same but smaller, so OK here is your FRT", HOWEVER given the politics and manner in which the Canadian system operates it is anyones guess as to how long.

The BATFE took a whopping 12 hours to determine the status of both the MH and MV from photos only.

The MV will not need a child entry as it is a production rifle and we have clearly made all caliber options known to the SFSS already.

Why is common sense not common? You'd think it'd be approved almost right away...

This might be a stupid question but if the mv had a rear charging handle but was still incompatible with ar uppers and lowers would it still be non restricted? Pretty much other that the 18.6" barrel is the charging handle the tipping point for classification?

The charge handle style is really irrelevant. The fact is our upper or lower will NOT mate up with anything else in the world, therefore it is NOT an AR variant.

Very interesting, thank you for the reply. With that in mind (going off topic here slightly), I wonder why the CMMG Mk47 Mutant was declared restricted. Perhaps it was just due to barrel length?

That being said, I am definitely interested in picking up a MV once they are released.
