I would, it matches with my Filipino niece and nephew. Both will get one of these once they get their RPAL, courtesy of uncle mg4201.

Here's a stainless 9mm commander I did up a couple years ago. I bobtailed this one and gave it the melt treatment. The gun didn't turn out exactly as I wanted it so I sold it and am working a version two now. I chose a plain Jane SAM commander for the redux. I currently also have the tactical version the commander (threaded barrel) that I haven't pimped at all. It's one of my favourite pistols.

This is exactly what I was thinking!

I think it would have been sweet with just the bob and no melt....

    I agree sort of...

The melt is something you have to take all the way, or just give the faintest hint of. Middle of the road doesn't cut it. That said, holstering and drawing this gun was a dream!

I was really happy with my work on the frame. It's hard to see but the circumference of the grip has been reduced slightly by thinning the frame ever so slightly on all sides. The area under the mag catch was relieved a bit too to allow my fingers to get higher up the front strap.

I was trying to emulate a Nitehawk Ladyhawk but didn't have the balls to go as far as they do in lightening the frame. It was hard enough to make myself cut off a hunk of the frame for the bobtail conversion.

These are great project platforms. They are very sturdily constructed.

    Hell yes!

Every component is better quality and assembled with better fit and finish.

In the Phillipines, SAM guns are common for CCW.

    I'm inclined to agree.
Bobtail, basic de-tuning of any sharp edges, a checkered or stippled front strap, maybe a barrel bushing if needed and an STI carbon trigger.

B.S., The front of that gun was a bit to close to the fire during the "melt" eh
    .....lost the classic 1911 lines.
Our Government trusts rivets more then law abiding gun owners.
