If you want to shoot cheap, crap ammo then buy an SKS. I saw them today on sale for $199. Russian laminate.
If you plan to buy a quality, fairly rare gun get a useful high-performance caliber.
What, are you going to shoot corrosive steel case ammo in a $1500 rifle? Duh!
These rifles are now in stock so those who preordered have shipped but there is at least one left. Will hit the website in a week or so but can be ordered by phone or PM before that.

It would be nice to see large, high quality picture of this rifle posted in this thread.

Picked mine up yesterday , wood is better then last year. Fit and finish is good. Hope to shoot it next week. Only 300 and some produced according to the Ruger Collectors Association. Buy now or scramble to purchase one in the future.

Dam, I never really wanted a single shot ruger before but that is tempting.
Remember remember early December

I see no reason why coalition, treason
Should ever be forgot...
Semi-autos are great, but I love falling-block rifles; it's a solid action. I may try to snag one, it is an interesting caliber in this case.
Feeding it surplus would be a waste; quality ammo will really make this rifle shine.
