Last year's trip up to Cold Lake to go hunting with a friend who'd just got back from a 9 month deployment to Kuwait - he needed some downtime in the bush. No pictures of him, because he's shy like that. It was a fantastic week exploring some country that I wasn't familiar with, and just spending time with an old friend who's always had my back, and I'll always have his.

For a deer gun, I was using an SKS I've accurized and scoped. My grouse gun is an old Winchester Model 50. My dad bought it new in the box back in the 50's. It has 60+ years (and counting) of putting meat on the table for our family.

Beautiful country up there in the spring, summer, and fall. Still beautiful in the winter, but they don't call it "Cold Lake" for no reason.
