Did not do nothing on it, did not look for a brake, did not even shoot it yet...

When i get to the range or my private land, i will sure give it a road test, but i am not even worried a minute, i own 2 other Scout Steyr 308 and they are out of this world rifles for handling, trigger, and awesome precision...

This rifle come from a superior genetic background... JP.

For those interested in a brake for their rifle, response from Steyr.

    Dear Sir,

thank you very much for your email and for being a STEYR MANNLICHER customer.

The threading on the barrel is a ˝“-20 UNF

Yes, we do have muzzle brakes, but they have an 18x1 threading. The good news is, that there

is an adapter available as well….from ˝” to M18x1

Thanks for this, i would order one, not that a 308 need a MB but would be nice to have it in the Steyr Scout CR trousseau... JP.

I couldn't get over the red inlays... I know they are replaceable, but probably hard to get and also not cheap.

I've owned a Steyr Scout in the past, and they are great rifles...I guess the scout thing wasn't for me or I'd have grabbed one. Did you ever look into cost and availability of those inserts?

Actually i like the red inserts, did not look for replacement, i could always interchanched them with the ones on my other Scout, to try... JP.
