I have fond nightforce scopes tend to be on the heavy side .
Shaving a once here and a once ther is going to be critical with both MV and MH for hunting
I will probably go with a simple Lightweight Leopold

What are you guys planning to run for optics? I cannot decide which way to go, planning to use the mv for gophers, coyotes and the like with 55 gr varmageddons. not being able to hunt with this style of rifle before, I'm not sure what will work best and would like to hear what others are thinking. I've used a red dot on a previous ar but stretching the legs on a mv would be difficult with just a red dot I think.

I have a brand new NF nxs 1-4x24 with a Burris P.E.P.R. mount for my new M.V..

Get a Aero precision mount (3 ounces) and a leupold , can't get much lighter.

The 1-4 or 1-6 options make a lot of sense. I will have to spend some time at a shop,looking at different options. Can't wait to get the rifle into the field!

I'd think a nightforce 2.5-10 compact or a leupold vx6 3-18 would be ideal if funds allow. Both have side focus and are about 20 oz - not sure 1-6 or 1-4 is enough for gopher hunting as far as this should be accurate too. If I was going lightweight if go with a vx-2 3-9 lightweight. Only 9 oz. Have one on a lightweight 243 and it's very nice.

One of the vortex ffp scopes would be ok, too, but the ones I've looked at were about 30oz. Too heavy for my taste.

I got mine from Brownels, I've used them on my AR,XCR and.308 without any issues.

I think they are sending the uppers (or lowers) to be nitrited. In Edmonton, I think. Progression is pretty much on schedule as per Shaun (last week).

I've been without a .223 since last September , I'm getting so antsy . I'll have my shoulder beat off from my 7 MM by summer
