I doubt that the 17HMR is going away anytime soon. The 17WSM will go away before the 17HMR.
only accurate guns are interesting
There was some talk about 17Mach2 being discontinued, that's the 22lr necked down to 17, but even that ammo keeps showing up, though not as often as 17hmr.
