That is why they are much lighter than MRE and you can fly with them. MREs have liquid and are not allowed by commercial airlines.

If you go to places where food is expensive or there is no "camping food" to buy, you can bring all the rations in the backpack and fly with them without shopping at local markets.

That is why they are much lighter than MRE and you can fly with them.

These also taste way better than an MRE. You can easily carry enough for four people for a week trip through the park and just bring a pot to boil water and a Nalgene pump for water that you can drink out of any lake.
