    Waiting for Approval

So I have some more free time these days to do stuff I want ( shooting sports)
I used to own restricted firearms years ago but sold them off before I moved out to Alberta nine years ago and want to get back into plinking at the local range.
I recently ordered a pistol from Marstar and the last update from them is that they are " waiting for approval".
My question is what is the process and how long do you normally have to wait for the Canadian Firearms Centre to process this stuff.
I haven't heard anything from the CFC or had any phone calls or emails for info.
Do I need to contact them for questions and concerns or do I have to wait for them to just get around to it.

    Thanks

No, it's just a waiting game. Time varies based on province and whims of the CFO.
Marstar should have gotten your RPAL when you bought the gun.
That, your gun club (sometimes), and your name is all CFOs need for the transfer.

Usually take 48-78 hours to get approved, then the pending of shipping, etc...

My last restricted was 2 days.

But faxing a copy of your range membership to the cfo can expedite the process a bit

Depends somewhat on the retailer too. I know they have electronic access to the system so they enter all the details and get immediate notification.
Not all retailers will do this however. Some phone in and wait for the paper copy to be mailed. Not sure what Marstar does.
Also, your transfer needs to go through two CFOs -- my guess, the Ontario CFO is slowing things.

contacted Marstar and got a reference number
contacted CFC and they said wanted a copy of my gun club membership.
said that notice was mailed out about a week ago?? Wow the snail really is moving slow in the mail these days..lol
scanned and emailed in a copy of my membership card.
Hopefully I should be making some noise and holes in the targets soon.

    well success!!
contacted CFC today and the Alberta CFO took a little time to figure stuff out.
Had them also email me a copy of the transfer.
Got shipping notification from Marstar as well, should be making some noise soon.
