    Restricted transportation and "lending"

I'm in Saskatchewan, and have had my PAL for over 15 years. I'm about to receive my RPAL upgrade, and have some questions.

If I'm going to the range and want to pick up my brother to go shooting, who is only slightly out of the way along the route to the range, is there any issue with the ATT that is attached to the RPAL now after C-42, since my main purpose of the trip is to go the the range?

Also, if I wanted to lend him my pistol (he has an RPAL) or have him store it in his safe while I'm away, do I need to call for a special ATT to take it to his house for that purpose?

If he was storing it, you'd be lending it to him, so condition 6 should authorize him to pick it up from you (with the cert).

Of course, you don't have one yet, since you stated you don't have your RPAL yet, but when you get those, that should be legal - as I read it. To confirm, it never hurts to contact your provincial cfo.

As for what route to take, I'm not sure. Seems to me a reasonably direct route is required, but the definition of 'reasonably direct' will depend on who's interpreting it. Again, best to call or email your cfo.

Hope that helps & good luck.
