    Waiting on pal....

So my RPAL has been 60 days so far. I called up the cfsc and asked if i could talk with the CFO about my application. The lady, who was quite nice actually told me that i need to wait 45 business days and not days consecutive? Does that sound correct? She would not connect me with the CFO either because she said my application isnt listed as a priority haha, wtf does that mean. She advised i call them in 2 weeks. Will i get in trouble for calling the CFO directly?

From what I understand it is not business days, it's consecutive days and you will not get in trouble for calling CFO

Yes, and it's a "standards of service" goal, the 45 days, not a "carved in stone that they WILL or HAVE TO meet" - simply a "we will try and do it in that time frame".

Calling the CFO might move things along. On the other hand if you catch him/her on a bad day your file might slip down a few in the pile.

If this is an initial application I understand the somewhat impatient wait and the "lack of priority" might be that they have an influx of renewals and really need to get on them so that it's not "their fault" that someone has an expired licence despite having sent it in with lot's of time to do "their job".

If it's a renewal this is exactly why I send it in a full four months before expiry (don't wait for the 90 days left notice they mail out which is then subject to Canada Posts "standard of service" which has taken 20 days for a first class letter to travel 300 kms in the same province).

You know you are always better to just kinda of wait and let these things run their course. Will it really hurt you to wait 90 days.

My PAL was received on Feb 10 and approved on Mar 16. All I had to do was call in after my 28 day waiting period and get one of my references to call in. After my reference called in the license was issued.

The number for the BC CFO is 778-571-3400, call them, don't wait, ask if there is any problem with your application, get your file number and have your references call in to speed up the process.BC CFO is pretty good to deal with and wait times seem to be ok, my wife, first time applicant had her Rpal in her hand in 38 days, the young lad that works for us in 42 days and my upgrade to Rpal in 45 days. If you have had any run ins with the law it will definitely take longer so be prepared to wait if you have history, lol.i have seen it take from 6 months too a year and a half if you have a record. good luck, if you get the right CFO they can approve it right over the phone, if you get a CFO that says just wait your turn, phone back in a couple of days and try again
