XCR-L Competition length and heavy barrel

Hi there, I am wondering if the competition length xcr upper is compatible with the heavy barrel? I love the way my hb xcr shoots, but I would love to have the length. I suppose I would need a new gas block though... Are those compatible with the heavy barrel?

The HB will work for sure but you do need a completely different gas block
