    Hatsan +2 mag extension trouble

Hi all, I have a question regarding the installation of the +2 mag extension I got from S&J for my Hatsan semi auto Escort.
First, I will say, I HAVE EPOXIED A PLUG IN THE +2 TUBE SO THE FINISHED SETUP WILL NOT HOLD MORE THAN 5 ROUNDS!
On to my question - the +2 kit came with no instructions; just the mag tube extension and a new spring. I assumed I would replace the standard spring with the new one. However, the new spring is half the length of the standard one, and is quite a bit thinner diameter metal.
I have searched youtube to no avail.
Does anyone know how this is supposed to be put together? Are both springs supposed to be used? Was I sent the wrong spring in the kit?
    Any help would be appreciated!!!

Not really sure what instruction are needed
Put the new spring and follower in the factor tube. Screw on the Mag tube.
Load with 5rds of your favorite 3 inch shells.
If there is not enough room to get in 5
9 shells in the tube. Cut the spring a little until you have a but of room
Then cycle the gun to make sure it is works.

As for the spring, out spring is a high quality spring we designed. It is different then some others
But so far over 100k in use and 0 problems

    Spring

    Hey BBB,
Thanks for the quick response. My concern is that the spring that came with the +2 kit is thinner diameter, thinner gauge metal and about 1/3 shorter than the factory spring. My concern is that the kit spring will not do anywhere near as good of a job as the factory spring that came with the shotgun.
Is it correct that the +2 spring is shorter than the factory spring? I had thought that, given that the +2 mag tube is now longer than the factory mag tube, the +2 spring should also be longer. Is my thinking backwards? My concern is that with the+2 spring, the last 1 or 2 rounds in the mag tube will not be reliable fed into the chamber????

Please pardon my ignorance on this matter, but I have not had a lot of experience with shotguns.

    Thanks again.

In that case...a friendly reminder that you can only legally have 5 rounds in the tube magazine. Some people use a piece of wood dowle cut to the right length and inserted into the tube magazine. I have not done this yet but I think if you have the dowel cut properly you should be able to have 5 (3inch) in the mag and one in the chamber and can have 5 (2 3/4) with a little extra room.

5 rounds of the longest lenght. if you fit 5.5 3 inch shells and 6 2 3/4 its perfectly legal.

Would that only work for an oem magazine not a aftermarket extension?

And a piece of dowel isn't sufficient. That's fine to reduce a mag capacity to 2 for hunting, but in this case you need a more permanent solution. You'd have to epoxy or rivet something in place to keep you at 5.9 of the largest shell your chambered for.

Doesn't matter if it's OEM or aftermarket.

Sooooo.... just to reiterate from my original post:

"First, I will say, I HAVE EPOXIED A PLUG IN THE +2 TUBE SO THE FINISHED SETUP WILL NOT HOLD MORE THAN 5 ROUNDS!"

So, to move back on track -I have installed the +2 tube addition and the original spring, since it is 1/3 longer, and stronger, than the kit spring. Has anybody else installed this kit, and had problems or no problems???
