I've had the 16" for almost a year now, and I am hard-pressed to say anything bad about it. The break-point on the trigger creeps a bit, and it is very heavy. Those are the only drawbacks in my mind. But... balance that against... it shoots almost as well as a bolt-gun; it shoots 147-155gr. as well as it shoots 168-175gr... it is easily the cleanest firing gas piston system I have ever used (and I have a few)... and it is absolutely rock-solid in every way. Built to a reliability and durability standard that far exceeds anything a restricted firearm (or any firearm) in Canada will ever remotely face... by a long shot. Great rifles.
On the colour thing... I think that is just flash photography accentuating slight differences in colour on slightly different surfaces... I don't see that in the natural light with mine. These things, particularly in the green/brown RAL8000, are some one of the nicest looking ARs around. Huge head-turning at the range (which I don't care about... but). I was not expecting a whole lot from this rifle on accuracy, as .308 AR's did not exactly have a sterling reputation for accuracy, but these things are amazing.
Heavy duty hardware, especially on the heavy.
