I think this probably sums up what you may get from JRA. My M1 wouldn't cycle out of the box, but after meticulously inspecting, cleaning, and greasing things are 100%. The gas port was partially plugged. The spring was rusty. Some parts required minor adjusting. Realistically, you have an entirely reparked rifle in a brand new stock for $400 more than a decent non-refinshed one would cost you. It's not a turn-key "brand new" M1, but ultimately worth the price.

SHE CAME! And a few days early at that given expected delivery was in two days. She looks like a damned beauty. I am no M1 Garand expert but there appears to be nothing wrong with this rifle in fit and finish. Just have to put some rounds through her! My thanks to Wanstalls for fulfilling my long held dream of owning one of these beauties! And yes, the first thing I did was eject an empty enbloc clip to hear that beautiful ping.

I do have on question: Will I have to adjust the rear elevation drum? The rear aperture is bottomed out with just over 6 showing on the hash mark. That doesn't seem quite right based on even on my relatively limited knowledge of this rifle.

Should show around 12 at the bottom i think? Bring it up to 2 for lowest elevation setting.

Got mine too this last Sunday. Was not expecting that but hey, I'll take it!
This rifle is absolutely gorgeous in my eyes, not a thing wrong with the fit/finish I can tell. Just need to strip her down, clean and lube, and put some rounds down range.
    Thanks Wanstalls.

Took her out today! She shoots like a champ and did amazing with some rounds I loaded (45.1 grns of H335 under 147 grn Canpro bullet). I have to say that I am bloody impressed with this rifle.

The guys at the gun store that I showed it to last night thought very highly of it. People of Wanstalls, my thanks...hearing that ping from the ejected enbloc clip was the highlight of my morning.
