Those new tactical Seeall open night sights are pretty cool looking. They seem decently Priced and have fibre optic and tritium. The online Reviews seem good. I don't have one but I would love to try one of them out. It can also be used as a backup sight as it's low profile. I just saw them last night for the first time. As stated below you can't go wrong with Trijicon,Aimpoint,Eotech,Elcan. I have all of them and love them! But.......the wifey didn't! Hehehehe
I was wounded by a machine gun, it looks really UZI

Many of us started with some budget options which quickly spirals out of control to much higher dollar but wayyyy higher quality optics. My first red dot was an Amazon UTG. It worked kinda. We now have a Vortex Sparc 2 with magnifier (which IMO is your best value for dollar), a Trijicon TR24g (best CQB optic for me), Leupold MK4 MRT (best 200-600 yd optic), and and Elcan OS4 (just cuz I could).

So I went from a $45 optic to well over $3000 in optics once I got the hook.

Listen to others and more importantly look through other optics and make choices. Then pull out the charge card and spend away. Lol
    Be ready.

I proudly belong to the ORA, CCFR, OFAH, and the BDHACC.

I'll look into the holosun for sure then.

    Youza.
Definitely holosun for RDS and if you want a magnified optic, I'd say to look at the Primary Arms 3x prism scope

Do you mean ones with magnification? They are usually 1-4 or 1-6 mag. Unfortunately in this category, it mostly is you get what you pay for ie. the more expensive, the better. You need to balance clarity at range and a wide field of view for close ups. Illuminated ones are good.

I don't personally use any. I shoot my Aimpoint without magnification out to 200yds.
Names you cannot go wrong with are:
    1. Elcan
    2. Leupold
    3. Schmidt & Bender
    4. Zeiss
    5. Tangent Theta

These named above can break your bank! Most are in the $2-3K range.

For daily use and the more budget minded,
    1. Vortex PST and Strike Eagle
    2. Bushnell AR optics

are probably the ones I'll go with.
There are others but I'm sure folks with more experience can chime in.

Thank you for yours thoughts - helpful. I guess I have to just get out and test them. Seems like some shooters also like the acogs and vortex razors.

Maybe I'm using the term tactical scope incorrectly.

    Edited:

Didn't realize CANADAAMMO paid forum. I would choose Holosun 515CU over NcStar for sure. Also check out their site for other optics they vary.

I agree with Ottawa. I have the first generation Vortex Spitfire 1x, with the DRT reticle. Even with my bad eyes, I can hit the 10" gongs out to 300 yards with this optic on my AR.

Vortex brought out a new version of their 1x prism scope, called the Spitfire AR: http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/...1x-prism-scope
