    Online purchase and sale tax

Hello, new to the firearms and plan to make first purchase.

I notice there are some great deals online, and little confuse about tax.

some website charge 5% , some charge 5% to certain provinces.

I am in new Brunswick, 15% GST(should be HST) tax if I go to store locally.

Just wonder is that true I can pay only 5%? that is a huge difference.

which stores you guys will suggest

    THANKS

Almost everyone (if not all) now charges the taxes you would pay in your home province.

You mean you have 15% HST and not 15% GST?
    What?

You will pay the tax for your province. 15% HST for NB.

    NS 15%
    PEI 15%
    Ontario 13%
    Alberta 5%

    Don't know the rest

Does a business remit the tax to the purchasers home province? Or does the tax stay in the province where the business is located?

It goes to the Feds (CRA) and they sort it out.

Makes sense. I'm sure business already spend more than enough time doing government paperwork.

Bought something from cabella's recently and although i'm in Qc, I only got charged the Ab 5%.
But as others have mentioned, you normally pay what you'd otherwise pay in your home province.
