I thought the same thing, but the spec sheet says 22 round mags. Stg mags are 25 rounds.

OK, so mags are not the same as the STG-44/22. They should be here in about a month. Price TBD but expected to be around the same price as the STG version.

ISSC Mk22.....Anschutz MSR RX22......now GSG.....

I had the first two, Looks like the ISSC barrel. The actual pencil barrel was hidden inside the barrel shroud and had a faux gas block mimicking the SCAR. The Anshutz had a match barrel but deleted the faux gas block.

Anshutz ceased production of theirs apparently.

Looks like the GSG has a different stock than both previous iterations.

Is this a totally new rifle with completely different internals or is it a redesign of the previous two?

Tough to say but we have always had good luck with GSG products. You are also getting a lifetime warranty. A manufacturer who is willing to do this is not expecting returns due to questionable quality
