It’s mucho dinero, especially when you add a shell deflector, dust cover, muzzle device, charging handle cover, longer takedown pins, etc, it can rack up to 3.5k easy. The add on parts are crafted like jewelry, and priced accordingly.

It is one of my finest rifles tho. It has some magical property whereby I can’t miss my target.

I’d compare it, fit and finish, to my Colt C8 IUR. When I tuck in behind the Raven, I feel at home, and with its familiar ergos I can weld that rifle like a scalpel!

Expensive indeed, but the value is there for me.

I’ve rolled the dice on virtually all the 180 platforms and left wanting. The Raven scratches that itch!

But YOWZA! it does sting the wallet.

Extended take down pins and dust cover aren’t required. Charge handle, brass deflector and muzzle device are the items that matter imo.

I’d echo that they aren’t required.

However, one of the best qualities the AR15 posseses, if you watch mud tests, is its innate ability to be buried in mud and still run like a sewing machine.

If you’re trying to achieve this, then get the dust cover, shell deflector, and left hand receiver cover.

I use my rifles in very snowy environments (read: DRIVING SNOW). If I can’t keep snow out of the bolt and receiver then my rifle won’t run. Hence the compulsory requirement for the aforementioned.

The rifle is a thing of beauty. Hang some jewelry on her.

Reliability is much better than the WK180 and other Canadian models, but worse than a Bren 2 or B&T.

Some documented accuracy problems, solved by replacing barrel.
Some documented reported cycling issues, solved by drilling out gas hole or replacing barrel.

The DI gas system is much easier for a user to replace / swap parts than a (broken) piston system
