plinking in Whistler to Pemberton, BC area

    Hi,

Is there any commonly used plinking places in Whistler to Pemberton area ? I'm trying to plan some activities for a trip to the area.

Outside the towns, it's a fairly remote region, so I assume if I get far enough away from Highway 99 and pointing in a safe direction (the mountains), then it's OK to discharge firearms ?

    Thanks

You'd be surprised how many Mtn bike trails there are around Whistler....seem to be people in the bush all over the place!

    Play safe.

check the BC Hunting regs... lots and lots of the area around hwy 99 from Vancouver to Squamish to Pemberton is a "no shooting area"... and for much of it you have to be 400 to 1000 meters from the Hwy. ( not easy to do when getting away from the Hwy involves going up steep and bushy terrain )

    OKH

There is a range before the switch back half way between Whistler and Pemberton on the west side of Hwy 99, I think I haven't been there since last summer. The gate might be electric now. I believe you can get a day key from one of the stores in Pemberton.

I've shot there a few times, nice range. You end up shooting up hill and the covered area is ruff sawed fir post and beam construction.

I've shot on the back side of the cougar mountain range in the valley, the west mountain range from whistler/blackcomb. The access road is 10 min north of the helipad, i think, on the west side of the hwy 99.

Fireball, I saw the sign for that range when driving from Pemberton to Whistler. I was surprised to see it, and didn't have time to go check it out.
