OK DARKSHADOW; You are the man, drop me a note we can discuss a container load of mixed more or less functional guns....
a 20ft container will hold about 2000 units loose packed
John
ha! that's what you get when you keep pressing on the same question
DARKSHADOW;
You sound like a bit of a virgin in arms trade, so allow me a moment to explain....
If we bring in a container load of scrap,
Prepare detailed shipping documents with serial numbers....
I must pay inland trucking to the port which is about $500.... + $500. for police & military "escort"
Filing detail reports through our broker for Canada Customs....
Then sea shipping of around $8,500. to Montreal....
Brokerage fees of around $1,100....
Pay the GST on the shipment....
Customs inspection around $1,100....
Trucking to our warehouse....$500....
So far we have spent just over 12k getting them here....or about $6./gun
Labor for unloading , inspecting, checking serial numbers, registering the shipment, tagging the guns, entering into our system, etc, etc, figure $3./gun....
ONCE THEY ARE REGISTERED and only then we can decide what to scrap
The we list all the scrap serial numbers
File a report with the CFO listing all those destined for destruction,
File a report with the RCMP/CFC requesting a deregistration of the weapons in question....
SEE how simple it is ?? Then of course sell the left over good ones really cheap.... Don't forget we have spent about $12./gun thus far....
We have NOT included the purchase price and in country costs....
Like I have said NOT REALISTIC, unless I can sell you a container load FOB site and you do the rest ?? How about it ?? Really cheap and then you can give them away
John
HITCH BD;
When were you down there ??
An interesting place, was there in the early 90s, the days of Barry Sadler and troops
John
John, I know you don't want to hire anyone to part out these rifles because of cost and security reasons, but will you be doing any actual hiring of people in the near future? I was an Assistant Store Manager of Walmart until I quit last year and would really love to start a new career in something I'm truly interested in. I've got an extreme level of integrity and can be fully trusted. As an Assitant Manager, you and the Store Manager are the only one's entrusted with the combination to the safe which could contain sums of money up to hundreds of thousands of dollars at times. I just brought that up because you mentioned if you did hire people to strip the rifles you'd also need security to make sure nobody steals anything. Let me know and I'll send you a resume.
Sorry for the highjack everyone. Now back to our regular topic.
I'm The Bad Guy...How Did That Happen?
Kindly show how my ONE post kept pressing the same question.
John1, I fully understand with the volume you are about to deal with you have no interest in dealing for pennies, and I was not suggesting you do. Sucks that you have to do that much work and BS just to melt them down.
racer111's post gave me the idea, I could make a couple of chairs out of them, although I am not sure how much the wife would love them
Dave.
I was right, wasn't I?
What, what was I right about?
No, no i wasn't right. I was wrong.
Oh wait You guys are from NASA!
