    These rifles are resurfacing and in my opinion the quality issues have been addressed. So I feel this thread is still relevant. I'd hate for any of the site sponsors, or any firearm business would lose sales because of old info.

    According to Gravel production is scheduled to start in Q1. I have one on back order with hopes of Feb delivery.

    Production was stopped? New ones are gonna cost. Msrp is 1013 usd... thats almost 1500 cad. Ouch

    Marlin (under Remington / Freedom Group) is known to have variable production schedules on their different lines.

    I can disclose more when it's in my hands but I am not expecting to pay more than $1000 for it NIB based on a one-time-only previous arrangement..

    The fitment on these is definitely better, but the checkering is still not quite there yet. It's more like scoring than checkering.

    I managed to find one at Canadian Tire a month ago for $1050 CAD. While the checkering could be worked on, the fit and finish issues seem to be clearly addressed. I took it apart completely and it looks quite good.

    I have 8 other JM Marlin's so this will be by first Remlin.. hope they don't let me down!

    That's a great price for an SBL in Canada in today's market
