Any news about the scar? Is there anything I can do to push the RCMP to work faster? They gotta learn that everything should have a deadline.

We were able to import to Canada (before the export permit expired) enough SCAR's that we can fill all of the confirmed pre-orders we had.

US State Department has denied the renewal permit we submitted for SCAR's (specifically stated in the permit that the permit DOES NOT APPROVE THE EXPORT OF SCAR FIREARMS for commercial end-users).

Sorry guys new to importing and was following this thread. Whats the FRT # and since the US has not approved the export of scar's could one still buy it from some end user in the US who wants to unload his and bring it back?

FRT# is the Firearms Reference Table number that is basically a number used to look up the specifications of the firearm in the RCMP tables. Things like barrel length, action, calibre, classification, etc.

As for the second question. . .well, you could, but if you get as far as purchasing it in the US, your most difficult step will be getting it over the border. The US guys probably won't want to let it out, as the US won't issue an export certificate for it. But in the odd chance that you do get it past the Americans, the Canadians might not let it in, as there is no FRT#, and thus it is unknown if the firearm is prohibited, or otherwise. But if you do get it past the Canadians as well, then go buy up some lottery tickets because the luck certainly is with you, and don't tell anyone about your success.

Well I imagine there will be a FRT for it eventually. It looks like from this thread that the process has started. When coming back you wouldn't talk to US border agents only Canadian. So as long as it has a FRT (which I magine that everyone in this thread is hoping happens soon) The Canadians should allow it across.

I just wonder if you could even purchase from a store or something as a Canadian? They probably wouldn't sell it to you because they know you need an export certificate... It dosen't look like Canada cares about the export certificate.. http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publicati...-eng.html#P011

Read what happened in Bosnia. Nationals from that country were buying Barrett .50 cal sniper rifles in the US and sending them home. Not one at a time either. And no one said anything until the guys who were on the receiving end happened to be the guys the US was on side with.

Frankly the US will do whatever the #### they want with firearms manufactured in their country and they could care less what you, me, or the ####ing fire hydrant thinks.

I wish there was but nothing yet. At this point waiting on FN to respond to RCMP inquiry and FN is slower than RCMP on this stuff.
