You're "understanding" or "Interpretation" of the law my not be correct or accurate when it comes to the actual application of said laws. So in your mind and with all good intention, you are following the laws (as per your interpretation). However in fact you are not!

Also if what you are saying is true, than why don't we have our SCAR's. Why are the GSG MP5 .22's prohibited? Why is a Mini-14 non-restricted and an AR15 restricted and an AK-47 prohibited? In fact, it is up to the RCMP to determin classifaction of all firearms in Canada, not the criminal code (the CCC is used as guidelines for these classifactions). Often (as we've seen) they make these deteminations based on "scary looks" and not actual function of the firearm.

Not as of yet. Beretta has indicated probably 2 years before we see a civilian version, so figure late 2013-2014. Maybe they'll have even classified the SCAR by then...

Actually ARs and AKs were given their specific scary classifications by name under C17 which predates the FRTs and the Mounties authority to classify firearms. If I recall correctly, under C17 the authority for classifying was given to the minister under order in council.

Not that you're wrong about the current state of affairs, I'm just on a constant quest for semantic purity.

If and when they come in, I will purchace one, and possibily a Skorpion EVO 3 A1 as well. I am not worrying about when they come in as I am working in Kabul and I am up to my ears in AK's.
