Apart from pending legal action, one of the main reasons we stopped importing their products was due to lack of support and quality control issues....

The RCMP tests and classify firearms according to the Firearms ACT
to deem a firearm prohibited outside of type requires a OIC and we have not seen such a thing happen for a long time.

The RCMP will spend tonnes of money and huge amounts of man hours with extremely well trained and well equiped people in order to make a firearm do something its not designed for so that they can prohib it. What makes you think that they can't or won't do it when ever possible.

They should simply make the stock fixed. To keep the original look.
Having them made with a 12" barrel would make them non-restricted; however, that would essentially have to be a special run done for Canada.Read my post about 3 down from that one
