This the "latest" Columbia South Carolina manufacture ?

I'm fighting the temptation to buy one of these. I have no real use for it. I'm just a 70 fan I guess.

Winchester is not messing about, if the models shipped to dealers are as good as the ones I saw at the show, fit and finish is near perfect.

Always had a soft spot for winny's, but these are just gorgeous. Gotta have one............ my last 70 was a wicked shooter. (90's CRF) and these are just top shelf.

Sure hope the FN versions are better than the one I bought some years ago. They were evidently on a cost cutting tear and I bought a rifle that had been bedded with "HOT GLUE". If you have ever used hot glue you know that it doesn't get really hard. So what I and many others ended up with was a rifle that allowed the action to sort of wiggle around in the stock. It never would shoot into less than about 3-4 inches at 100 and I almost sold it. Finally took it down and gave a hard look at what they did. Dug the glue out of it, installed pillars, and properly bedded the action. It now stays inside 1 1/2 inches no mater what it's fed. Sincerely hope FN never tries to save money on the bedding, or anything else for that matter that might affect quality or accuracy.

I have the featherweight in 7mm-08 and I absolutly love it. I want another (sporter model) in 30-06 just because I like them so much.
