Maybe some of these other manufacturers will see that S&W are selling likes hotcakes in Canada because of the 107mm barrel and will follow suit and make some as well.

    Thanks North Sylva guys.....

    629......Yes Please

Absolutely will take a 629 in this format. Mountain gun look would be nice, bead blasted like a 625, however the full underlug, ahhhh, I'll take both!
Thanks North Sylva guys, I spoke to S&W Performance Centre reps at SHOT and they will only consider minimum special run guns in batches of 500. I am sure the 629 crowd could hit this mark to make it worth the effort.

    I know what a 629 is.

But what is a mountain gun?

Now that is one damn fine looking revolver.

    We're listening to you CGNer's!
Can we get them with unfluted cylinders too?

EEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWW!!! Too much info!!!! Having to check the bore for belly button lint.... EEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWW!!!!!

I reiterate, a 629 with full barrel underlug would be perfect, don't much like the look of the chopped one (like the one someone pictured). The matt/brushed finish on the other hand could be very nice, or the classic finish would be good, not picky on that, just the full underlug would look especially good on the short barrel.

The Mountain Gun has a tapered barrel, much like other N Frames in .357 or .44 Special instead of the heavier "bull" barrel normally used on the .44 Magnum. If you look carefully at the the picture posted above, you can see the taper of the barrel. S&W has also made runs of them in .357 (686), .41 (657), and .45 Colt and .45 ACP (both 625s).

Contrast this 629 with the Mountain Gun version above:
