Yup - it will be my third 500 should S&W makes one in 4.2" with no comp.
I''d be in for 4.2" 629 as well....
CSSA and CCFR Member...
I just got mine, the only complaint is the cheap S&W hard rubber grips they put on to replace the soft rubber Hogue.(see 686 on S&W website) There may as well not even finger grooves in them and it doesn't feel planted in your hand like the Hogue. Budget $25 more in your purchase for some Hogue grips which is pretty disappointing when you just dropped $900.
North Silva - have you had any other complaints about these grips?
Weird, mine came with Houges...

WOW, North Sylva is bringing in some fine firearms without drama and endless promises..well done.
to see if there's any news on the 4.2" 629
This does seem to suggest that cats are – generally speaking – quick-to-anger control-freaks that act without forethought.
I'd definitely be interested in one or two of the following 4.2" revolvers:
-610 (most want - will buy!)
-629 (will buy, but then skip 500)
-s&w500 (will buy, but then skip 629)
Anxiously waiting... by the sounds of it, looks like a 629 is in the near future.
Like this one at 106mm and no lock???
...would love a 629, a 500 and a 460XVR just like this one...
