Also, we cant have full auto but we should be able to keep our full auto BLANK guns......

If the purpose of laws is to protect people then why pass laws that just annoy people with no purpose? Those FA blank guns dangerous are they?

    gah
You are talking about people who prohibit guns based solely on their names and nothing else...what kind of logic did you expect?

Actually, Criminal Code specifically lists certain Valmet models as an exception to the AK47 variant prohibition. There is no exceptions to the MP5/variant prohibition.

The problem lies in the interpretation of "variant"

I think a big part of it has to do with the fact that the manufacturer (GSG) took the initiative to declare it a variant of the MP5 when it came to market. Thats how they advertised it.

We're kidding ourselves to think the RCMP would go out of their way to otherwise show that it is not in fact an MP5 or variant thereof as the manufacturer declared & therefore not subject to our prohib criteria.

Even if a restricted .22 MP5-alike came into Canada, I'd buy one.
    Bonus points if its non-restricted.
