Stittsville is the only range in Ottawa with walk-on fees available, all other ranges require membership. (There is a skeet/trap club near the airport that doesn't require membership but they don't have a traditional range for non-shotguns).

Connaught membership fees vary, when I was last there (3-4 yrs ago) as a guest they said first-timers (or students?) have a membership cost of ~$150-$200, but I heard that the normal fee is much higher.

Best to check with the club rather than ask here.

Is that place still open? I drive past every day and I never seem to see anyone going in/out, or hear shots. I managed to find a very outdated website and email address but no response.
Never actually decided to drive in though.

Hard to do that when they won't answer you.

The NCRRA(The whole club operates by each specific discipline shooting different evenings. No W's. ncrra.ca/index.php) is a DCRA/ORA affiliate. The DCRA/ORA shoots at Connaught. Connaught Range is not open to the general public other than as an ORA/DCRA/NCRRA member.
NCRRA Target Rifle Section shoots Wednesdays from 1700hrs to last light and on Sundays from 0830hrs to approximately 1200hrs or later though.

I just joined this April, received my new ATT for DND ranges within 2 days, so far VERY impressed with this club! Price is very reasonable and great facilities.
Not as many opportunities to shoot as some clubs but the fresh air makes up for it.

I would like to practice my shooting skills mainly for hunting purposes. Would Stitsville be my only option without membership? How much do memberships cost usually? I have never been shooting at a range before.
