I was merely trying to inject some humour.
    I thought you had some.

Seriously bud, I was trying to help you out before.
In my time here, I have found it best not to take anything too seriously, or personally. People pick on the strangest things, and get all upset over nothing.

Life is too short my friend.
    Keep rolling with it Carverk.

And good luck on the Ecuador project.

( I just used my spell check, and had to correct two words, can you guess which ones?)

By the way, I looked at this thread to see what options were actually available for the Mare's Leg full stock.
I am getting a Henry, and had thought about doing just that.
I might try out Foxer's sling idea, and see if that works well enough.
Sounds like it might. The whole idea is to keep it short.

You can get a holster made up through Wanstalls. They have an ad top center above. Very reasonably priced too!
It would be cool to be able to have it handy walking through the woods, if need be.

Well - you can take my henry 22 up to the range and see what you think of it. The saddle ring on the 22 is kind of cheezy, not solid like the rossi or chiappa but i suspect the ring on the centerfire version is a little more substantial.

Having said that - the henry is longer than the rossi or the chaippa, and if there was one of my mare's legs i'd consider putting a proper stock on, it would be that one. It feels more like a small rifle than the other ones.

I should be getting the Henry any day now. Thanks Foxer.
I think it's only a couple inches longer.

Op needs a chill pill. :D

Yeah, only an inch longer than my rossi and 2 inches longer than the chiappa.

The thing is - when i hold the other two and imagine a full stock for them, i can tell the balance just wouldn't be quite right. It would still be a mares leg with a stock. The weight and length of the henry is different, and I can tell a stock on that would make it feel like a short rifle, instead of a mare's leg with a stock I think i'd enjoy shooting the stocked henry more than the rossi or chiappa.

But i'd still try the sling thing and see what you think - i haven't tried it on a henry yet.

We could meet up some day, and compare. Have you held the Henry yet?
I think they are beautiful looking rifles with that brass reciever, and bits.
Nice contrast to the blued steel.

Not the centerfire. I have the 22 but it's a different beast.

They're not my cup of tea as much because i generally don't like the front tube feed, but i have to agree they're gorgeous, and lots of people DO like the front feed.

(BTW - i discovered that if you take a slurpee straw and cut it to length and bend the ends properly you can get a 'quick feed' system for the 22 that works perfectly. the 22 shells fit in there just right and in one motion you've got the tube filled. - i bet you could find some pvc pipe or the like that was the right diameter and file the end to make a small 'funnel' shape and use tape to achieve the same effect. Then it would be even faster to load than the rossi and you could keep 4 or 5 of them on your belt. )

Interesting, perhaps some brass, or stainless tubing would work.
Just like how they load those machine pellet guns at the fair.
Great idea. If you had enough on your belt, it would look like a grass skirt!
