It is similar to what some are using on their barrels, but most of the barrels I see are chrome lined so no need for nitriding the interior. I don't see the harm in nitroning the interior as this is a crazy thin finish.

Oh, I should of pointed out that the barrel is SS.

I have an SS AR barrel. Once I'm done breaking it in, I'm going to test it for accuracy to find out if it's worth the maintenance.
If it's nothing special I might consider getting this kind of treatment done to it.

Is it possible to Nitron the bore but not the exterior ? I kind of like the SS look of it.
And I was reviewing your website but did not find prices.
How much to Nitron a 16" SS AR Barrel ?

Can Nitron be done in a gloss finish if the stainless steel is polished before the coating process?

A post 64 would look great in a semi -gloss nitron. We recently did a Savage 99 1950's in a semi-gloss nitron and it looks perfect. I will have some pics up when the holidays are over.

Murdoc. I'd be interested in seeing those Savage 99 pics. I have a 99 from the 50's i was thinking of doing some weather proofing to.
