Is the quality on these better than the Savage Axis.
It looks allot like a Tika?
Can anyone compare these for me?

x2 i would like to know also, I'm on the edge between getting one of these or a Savage with accutrigger.

enjoying mine in .308! very hard to find though! The trigger is crisp and light! i havent even adjusted it yet! Perfect rifle for bashing around in the bush for deer hunting season! Plan to get it shooting 1moa with reloads.

The ruger american is a step up from a savage axis. Next to my tikka, it looks, feels, and performs very similar. The only thing that leaves something to be desired is the plastic stock, but that is why its so light...just like a tikka. The stock is more rigid than a axis though. A buddy of mine had to re-sight in his axis after installing a bipod because it made the stock flex and touch the barrel. A bipod did'nt change my ruger. The bolt is very beefy on the ruger, and the trigger is very similar to a savage accutrigger. The short bolt throw (rotation) is nice because I was able to mount a 50mm scope with low rings, and the handle has plenty clearance still. IMHO the ruger american is the best bang for the buck in rifles under $600, and as good as others costing more.
