Does anyone even make a restricted length barrel for a JR carbine?

I couldn't see how that would work - as all restricteds need to be registered. I was thinking the same thing. Keep the long barrel for out in the bush when I'm up at the cottage, and put on a short one for here at the range just because it looks cooler than that silly 18" barrel sticking out of the foregrip. But Canada law is really specific on registered guns, how they're classified, who imports/makes them, etc. I doubt you could just 'make' a restricted from a non-restricted. My guess is that it would be the same as sawing off the barrel of a shotgun: you'd go from non-restricted to prohibited.

Easily done just need to re register and have it verified wait for reg paper and vide versa
Will require coop with the CFO and a gunsmith/shop to verify

But who would know it was restricted with the long barrel?

It doesn't matter. We comply with the law.

If you started with restricted, the serial number would be registered... If I was packing around a rifle in the bush, (especially one that appears in a cops or CO's eyes to resemble an AR) I'd want to be darn sure it was a legit NR.

As many others, also interested in a shorter restricted version assuming the price point is similar to the current NR
