    don't do it. that 8 3/8s is a beauty. do it to a used 6"er that didn't come with the wooden presentation box.

    yup. i tried to trim down and sold my walther, only to jump on a redhawk that just came up on ee. looks like the kids are back on hotdog water soup.

    lol, i know all too well. The 8/38 bbl 29-2 does shoot like a dream, real tac driver. Easy too shoot too, longer barrel seems to soak up more recoil.

    I have the 4.2 629 just because it is the fairly versatile / close to classic Elmer Keith length, and is the ideal backcountry tool IMHO (though only theoretically of course). For practical range use and just plain coolness, the 8 3/8 has always been my favorite 29/629.
