Hornady does make ammo specifically for the M1. http://www.theammosource.com/index.p...oducts_id=2114
I think the problem with some commercial ammo is when you start using 180gr bullets. They can be damaging to the op rod. I might be wrong though.

Homer: A gun is not a weapon! It's a tool. Like a butcher's knife or a harpoon or...uh, a...an alligator. You just need more education on the subject.
It's the gas pressure created by commercial ammo that can be harmful to the op rod, for you reloaders, from Master PO recipes
These loads only duplicate military spec. velocities for the given bullet weight, using commercial cases and powders. If you are using military cases, drop all charges by 2 grains.

“Okay, I reckon the hare gets ####ed”
“What, Proper ####ed”
what is the difference between the American Eagle 30-06 Springfield made for the m1 garand versus the American Eagle 30-06 springfield round?
Just picked mine up from the post office two days ago. I can't wait to take it to the range, but I have some reloading to do first!
Thumbs up to Gary from wanstalls for the awesome communication (via email), your efforts got you a sale. (Could have sold it without trying because of the quality product, but it was better off being sold to me!)
