What does the term "selling cotton candy" mean?
Obviously Calgary Shooting Center is probably too busy to monitor this thread now. We are closing it as it will not be fair to CSC when they cannot make a presence at this moment.
To all of our customers and members, thanks for your support and kind words. We are working hard to overcome this setback and get back up and running at 100%. For those worried about their property, rest assured that except for two consignment guns all customer guns were safe. We will make good on the consignment guns too.
We are of course also working hard to ensure that something like this can not happen here again. Unfortunately some of these changes will make the store a little less user friendly and we apologize in advance for the coming changes.

To those of you arguing that security was "lax" or insufficient - please give your heads a shake on what your insinuations would actually result in, should your ill thought ramblings be taken seriously.
As another poster stated - they were stored legally. 'nuff said. The vendor did nothing wrong and complied.
As other posters stated - locks are only meant to slow people down enough until the good guys arrive. If the bad guys know the place well enough or have enough skill and experience - that slowdown becomes minimal.
By your insinuations that they "didnt do enough" - what do you suggest? For one to say "into a vault", well - someone can break into a vault. Then someone will say "into a bank". Well, that's been done before as well.
There is a logical limit we need to apply on what is "good enough" to keep the general population safe. We do not want to live in under a Stalinistic regime. So why push for it on what the 'minimum' should be.
Think that would mean in our own homes with our own collections? Solid steel doors. No ground floor windows. Vaults. Alarm systems. Guard dogs. Security guards. Whistling parrots. Video surveillance.
But wait - no. You only have one firearm you say - it shouldn't apply. But what about the guy with 3? 5? 8? 15? Now you'd introduce layers into that same model.
So with all of that said --- they were stored legally. Which is still at a pretty high standard. Isn't our common complaint is that we dont have enough rights to own, store and use firearms without the government dictating every time we move?
As I said... please give your head a shake, and remember who the criminals are, and who the victims are.
Good luck to you CSC --- I hope you're able to move forward without a detrimental impact to your business.
Phew that's long.
