I have fired a total of 9 rounds in three round groups with ammo that I use in my match 30/06.{ 60gr H4831 and 175gr SMK} Use some discretion as it is listed as a max load in some manuals.
Of the three groups fired @ 100mtrs it has fired one three round group as small as just over 1/2 MOA. No load development done as of yet but it shows real potential to be a tack driver despite the 2.5x scope.

wrote to JRA and here is what they replied:

They are newly made stocks with no provision for clips. Clips were found to affect accuracy by putting pressure on the barrel. They do not come on C stocks. These are refinished used original parts and we are picking the best of them.
    Thanks,

I guess it makes sense not to have them putting pressure on the barrel. It is a sniper rifle after all and accuracy is what counts the most. The handguards are not to hard to come across, if you want to change them out. I think I'll leave it alone on mine when it comes. I can't wait, I'm going out of my skin.

Me too it make sense but how come the original M1903A4 has it ? They never thought about this detail especially during war time .. ? hmm

I just got my 1903 a4. I got to say I am quite pleased with it. Of all the firearms I have I think this is a contender for one of my favourites. Repo or not it's a nice rifle and the fit and finish is excellent. I can't wait to take it to the range. This is the first firearm I bought from Wanstalls and the service is ecxellent.
