    Question SVT - 40 furniture

    Hi John:

First and foremost thank you and your team over there for help and advice!

Just curiouse about the SVT -40 and if there is any optional (Synthetic) stocks available or any other mod parts that you can get, I ask only because as much as I like the original Equipment on it, it would be nice to get a different stock at the very least.

It will help me decide on if this rifle is something I should get or not.
Thank you in advance and no rush on info. when you can.
    Thank you

rat's...... well I guess I need to think hard about this before I order then
Don't get me wrong I love my M-44 in same caliber as svt - 40 and that was kind of why I was going to buy one so I can have a semi auto shoulder smasher LOL
Love that 7.62 X 54R kick besides that scares the crap out of the neighbours beside me shooting and they think I am welding with such a short barrel
For now I think I will have to put it on my wish list

Thank you all who let me know info.

I thought that there was a guy on ebay selling replacement wood stocks from overseas. You may want to look into that. At least with a replacement wood stock you could modify/paint it without wrecking the original and maybe stiffening/bedding it with glass.

    Found it here:

    ht tp://www.ebay.com/itm/SVT-40-SVT40-super-repro-wood-stock-/221154078819?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item337dcf 7063#ht_655wt_1170

Take the space out from between the http: and you are good to go. I heard as well that they are really nice.

No, and there's unlikely ever to be. Because of the import bans in the US, they're too rare and expensive to mess with down there. With no US demand for aftermarket stocks, we're not likely to ever see anyone come up with something for the Canadian market, which is just too small to make it worthwhile.

There are a few people around who've hand made "SVD"-ish stocks for them. Other than that, all you're likely to see is aftermarket scope mounts.
