There are very capable of decent shooting with good ammunition obviously. From a bench with the original iron sights.
And I blame the constant & often gusting wind for these split groups.
This would be around 2008 Christmas time in Nova Scotia, at one outdoor range.

Well, mine is in good condition. That I'm sure of, for what it's worth?

PS: IIRC, mine was made in 1973, but is very similar to the one currently imported by CanadaAmmo.

Thank you guys for your comments.

I have a TOZ. They are excellent rifles but what I am wondering about is the particular rifles currently in stock at CanadaAmmo. They are decribing them as military surplus and giving us any information about the conditin of the rifles. I will try calling them inthe morning as no one seems to know anything about them

I had one of these toz 8m rifles (maybe not from canada ammo, it was a couple years ago). SOLID rifle, HEAVY long bull barrel. Mine was missing the rear sight spring and had been bubbad (drilled and tapped for scope bases right on the "made in USSR" stamp). I tried for abotu a year to get someone to sell me a 91/30 rear sight spring (same sights) but couldn't get one, so I traded it. Kinda mad at myself for that, because abotu 6 months later the 91/30 became available in the thousands as well as parts.

There rifles are in EXCELLENT condition generally. The guy I traded it to refused to believe that it wasn't refinished. Heavy, solid, straight shooting single shot .22LR rifles. They ARE NOT grooved for a scope. Fortunately, Nagant sights are just about the best sights for old eyes.

You guys got my curiousity up so I just checked mine. This one is grooved for a scope. Now I have a Toz-17 that is not grooved for a scope. But years ago I remember having a Toz-17 that was grooved.

I find it rather odd that the new(est) ones are not set up for optics.
