By law, and this holds for all consumer goods in Canada, the importer is ultimately responsible for the products imported. Regardless of who made it or where it was made, the CDN importer is responsible to organize and handle any warranty claims. If you buy it in Canada, there will be a warranty system.
Searching the web, we were unable to find any credible reports of any failures of polymer lowers. If these lowers were inherently weaker or more prone to failure, there would be all kinds of reports on the internet yet we found none. We did find one citation of a guy claiming to have more than 10,000 rounds of FA through a polymer lower with no problems.
A number of other firearms also use polymer lowers, for example the XM8, SCAR and the ACR and if available, guys would be lining up to buy those.
Thanks for the update.
I see one of these in my future soon.

Polymer lowers, with something like a 10.5" upper affixed, is a great way to get your kids and better half introduced into the shooting sports and AR platform.
Lightweight and easy to shoulder.
